Switching

When to switch

There are four choices for how often you want Dream Manager to switch your dream.

Switch on a timed interval

Use this option to have Dream Manager change your dream every x minutes. Just enter the number of minutes you want to wait between changes.

Switch once a day

Use this option to have Dream Manager change your dream once a day.

Switch only when Dream Manager is started

Use this option to have Dream Manager change your dream every time it runs. This is useful if you want Dream Manager to change the dream every time you reboot.

Never switch automatically

This option is useful for users who prefer to switch dreams only when they want to.

Use groups when switching

When this is enabled, Dream Manager will group together dreams when switching to a new dream. It creates a run of like dreams instead of being completely random.

Positioning

Default Positioning

The positioning setting is used for dreams that do not have an explicit positioning setting on them. To learn how to explicitly set a position on a dream, visit the positioning dreams help page.

positionStretchSmall.jpg
  • Fit to screen - This is used to stretch your dream so it fits exactly to your monitor. This can cause a distortion if the dream was not designed for you monitor's aspect ratio.
positionTileSmall.jpg
  • Tile - If the dream is smaller than your monitor, this will tile it on the screen.
positionCenterSmall.jpg
  • Center - Centers the dream on your monitor without changing it's size
positionAspectSmall.jpg
  • Fit keeping aspect ratio - Changes the size of the dream so it fits to your monitor size without distorting the image and without cropping any part of the image. Dream Manager does not support this setting for wallpapers. If this is the default, wallpapers will use the stretch setting instead.
positionCropSmall.jpg
  • Fit with crop - Changes the size of the dream so it fits to your monitor size without distorting the image but may crop part of the dream in order to get the dream to cover your entire monitor. Dream Manager does not support this setting for wallpapers. If this is the default, wallpapers will use the stretch setting instead.

Groups

Groups are a way to group dreams together. Visit the grouping dreams help page for more information on how to group dreams.

Enabled Groups

Use this option to disable an entire group of dreams. If you not in the mood for a certain group of dreams, you can disable them here and they will not be picked for display.

By default, disabled groups are hidden in the Dream Manager window. You can use the "Show disabled groups" checkbox on the Dream Manager window to re-show them. But, even though you can now see them, they are still considered disabled and will not be picked for display by Dream Manager.
